The little kids loved to get their pictures taken. They would come out and make the ‘camera click’ motion with their fingers and then pose. They all wanted to be front and center. I think the littlest one didn’t know what to make of it but he had to follow along with his siblings. Looking back at these photos now brings a smile to my face remembering how innocent and curious they all were. It also brings a sadness not knowing what has become of them and the people in the village. The children are the victims of this war that will suffer the most. They should be running around collecting bugs in empty mayo jars and watching Saturday morning cartoons. I will hope with all my heart that’s what they are doing and try not to think of the other possible worst case scenarios.
