Most Adorable Archaeologist EVER

To continue my positive Syria and Middle East, I’m going to start with the kids. This is my little digger buddy! He would come out and help me with my excavating. I don’t think he recorded his bevel rimmed bowl sherds correctly but he got pretty good with the brush. We gotta start them young!

It’s really important at rural sites to connect with the local people who live there. They will protect it and care about the artifacts and architecture year round when the archaeologists can’t and they’ll do it for generations to come. This village has been at this site for longer than any of us have been alive and the people there are more connected to the Cultural Heritage than many of us can ever be.
